The current versions of Autodesk software can only read files created with version numbers greater than 0x0800. This can sometimes cause problems when users create drawings with newer formats that use version numbers less than 0x0800. If a file created with a newer version number is loaded into an older version of AutoCAD, the older version will not recognize the new features, and may not even save properly.
As of AutoCAD 2008, the drawing tools are only available on the desktop, while the drawing window is now a web-based application. Additionally, the drawing window no longer supports the use of local files. This limitation was in place to reduce bandwidth usage and maximize screen real estate.

Open Autocad and create a new drawing.
Open the project file you downloaded in step 1.
Copy the path to the target directory and paste in the file opened in step 2.
Press ‘Save As’ and select ‘Autocad R4’ from the list.
On the ‘Save as’ screen, click ‘OK’.
Press ‘File’ and select ‘Save As’.
Choose a name for the project file that will be used in step 3.
Open a command prompt and run the following command to install the
Autocad R4 DLL files.

Run the following command to create a database of your project file.

Close the ‘Save As’ window and the ‘Save’ window that appeared.
Close the ‘Project’ window.
Close the ‘Acad’ window.
Select ‘File’ > ‘Send to’ > ‘Autodesk’.
Select ‘Acad file’ and select the project file you created in step 3.

Draw tables automatically as you type. A table can be drawn with any reference object, such as a circle or a square.
