While Photoshop is a paid program that can run on both Mac and Windows computers, Adobe offers two versions of Photoshop: Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS. Photoshop Elements is a free option for basic graphic design and digital imaging, and Photoshop CS is for more advanced use, including more complex types of editing, retouching, compositing, and authoring. The Photoshop CS family is the version we will be discussing here.
Compatible with both Mac and Windows, Photoshop CS can be used in both professional and amateur situations. For those new to Photoshop, the learning curve is fairly simple. It provides straightforward tools that allow users to edit both raster images and vector graphics. It is simple to use and the interface is relatively intuitive. Basic requirements of Photoshop include a computer with Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7.

Photoshop’s ease of use makes it popular with both amateur and professional Photoshop users. However, as with any software, Photoshop will yield the expected results for the user who fully understands the inner workings of the program.
The power of Photoshop is based on its layer-based editing system. Individual layers can be deleted, moved, rotated, scaled, and stretched. The changes can be undone and redone as many times as needed. This makes it easy to create files that can be modified and altered at any time until the desired effect is achieved. This system makes it possible for users to create extremely complex images from start to finish without having to worry about layers, such as when copying and pasting different layers.
Photoshop CS consists of various tools for working with raster images and vector graphics. You can edit your images with a built-in image editor or customize shapes and colors with any of the many filter tools. There are also several special effects that can be used to enhance and refine digital photos. You can also use other programs to edit your images, but this can make your workflow more complicated. This means that Photoshop not only acts as an image editor, but it also extends to other image editing and manipulating workflows, including adding subtle accents and effects to your images.
If you are an amateur, but want to learn to use Photoshop elements, I highly recommend getting the Elements 12 User Guide. This is a good place to start. You can find it here:
Adobe Photoshop Elements is free software. To run it, you need a computer that can run Windows. You can download it here:

The Healing Brush is similar to the Clone Stamp and also allows you to copy pixels from one area and paste them into another.
The Spot Healing Brush is similar to the Healing Brush, except that it has a search area that allows it to select only the pixels of one color.
Pen tools are great for creating intricate lines or shapes that can be erased with a click of the mouse.
The Paths tool allows you to trace an outline of an object and create a mask that can be used to either erase an area or fill it with a color.
The Magic Wand tool is used for selecting a certain area of an image, or for selecting all the pixels within a certain area. You can also use the Magic Wand to move to the next or previous region (via the F key) to refine the selection.
The Lasso tool lets you create a freeform selection using an outlined area. To make a selection, simply click where you want to start the lasso and click again where you want to end the selection.
The Marquee tool is used to create a selection of the area where the cursor is, either by dragging a window around the area, or by holding down the shift key and dragging a window around the area.
There are many other tools in Photoshop. See your Photoshop manual for more information on these tools and how they work.

The Internet has become a major source of information and services, and the volume of information continues to grow exponentially. With millions of new Internet users and an increasing presence of business and individuals on the World Wide Web, the growth in Internet access and usage has grown substantially. Many organizations are focusing on the Internet as a means of increasing sales and customer service. This proliferation of goods and services on the World Wide Web has led to a corresponding increase in the amount of Internet traffic, and, the number of goods and services offered for sale by individuals on their own websites is far reaching.
Internet websites and other electronic formats typically include content items with a uniform resource locator (URL) for linking the content item to a specified address on the World Wide Web. However, some Internet websites offer content items having a URL for linking the content item to the Internet website or electronic format; however, they also offer other content items having a URL which may be used to link the other content item to an Internet resource or electronic format.
The conventional approach for linking the different content items involves an Internet user selecting and entering the URL, address, or other suitable means of connecting an Internet resource or electronic format in order to access the desired information. The URL or other means typically involves a systematic sequence of alphanumeric characters, which are difficult for Internet users to remember and to input on an Internet device such as a personal computer. For Internet users with a desire to link to other Internet websites or other electronic formats, the process can be even more challenging, and such difficulty can present further inconveniences.
The present invention contemplates a new and improved method and apparatus for linking content items which overcomes the above-referenced difficulties and others.Archive for February, 2018
