If you open an image in Photoshop and click the Edit tab to see the layers, you can use it for illustration, composition, paint, and coloring, which is why artists have traditionally used Photoshop to create artwork.
Finding What’s in Photos
Photoshop is a powerful image-editing program, but it’s not great at finding what is or isn’t in the image when you open it. Photo-editing applications for cameras generally perform relatively well in this area.
Using Photoshop for image resizing
For most of the years that Photoshop has been around, its layer-based editing system has made it difficult for a user to resize an image without losing the image’s information or causing it to become pixelated.
However, software has come a long way since the days when a user had to draw a new border around the edges of an image.
Photoshop now has the ability to resize an image from its original dimensions to any other size you desire, keeping the original pixels in an exact proportion.
To do so, open the image in Photoshop and follow these steps:
1. Select the Resize Image button on the Image panel on the Edit tab.
2. Use the slider or enter a new size for the image.
3. Click OK to apply the new size to the image.
4. Click OK in the resize dialog box, and the image is resized for you.
Photoshop includes a basic resizing feature, so you may want to select Resize Image⇒Resize or Resize Image⇒Image Size to use this feature in a more sophisticated way.
Photoshop includes many features that enable you to crop, invert, or flip a photo. Those are covered in the following section.
Creating and editing graphics with Photoshop
When you first start working with Photoshop, you may find yourself wanting to create what the application can do. However, the best part of Photoshop is using its program-tweaking abilities to work on other types of images, not just photos. That is, you can easily add text, frames, and other effects to any image, even if it’s not a photo.
When you first open Photoshop, you see the famous red eyedropper tool, which you can use to select color from an image. You can use this tool to apply that color to your work or to create a new image by filling it with a particular color.

Before I answer your questions, I first want to stress that I am not a professional athlete, nor do I know what it is like to be one, and so I’m really not going to pretend to have any answers. But as a person who has a bunch of you and the rest of the #winningfamily rooting for me, I really appreciate you asking these questions.
You’re absolutely right that I’m not out here on my own; I’m here because I have teammates. These teammates have worked really hard to overcome injuries and setbacks along the way. They’ve been there for me at any time I’ve needed them. They’ve also been a source of encouragement and motivation.
Let me tell you a little bit about them:
Dillan has been my roommate since I joined the team. We’ve come a long way together over the past two years, and I’ve absolutely grown from this experience. He’s been the best teammate I could have asked for, and I can only hope I’m half the person he is when he’s my age.
Maddie and I have shared a lot of togetherness, too. I think my relationship with Maddie goes all the way back to the middle of my freshman year at the University of Michigan. I went to an early-entry tryout with her to be a Wolverine, and she was one of only a few people who encouraged me to keep my scholarship and be part of my school’s football program. I’ve been so lucky to have had someone like her on my side for the past four years.
And everyone knows about the love story. We first became a couple when I was a freshman, before I even knew what dating was. I knew I wasn’t ready to be in a relationship when we started dating, and I didn’t want to get married before I was ready. But Maddie was there for me, and we really got to know each other and become close friends. It was Maddie who encouraged me to pursue my college degree and stay in school, and she was one of the first people I told when I was getting drafted. It has been so much fun working on our relationship along the way, and I’m so thankful to have her in my life.
